Afghan Garden Panel · Faryab Province
Windows of Bakhtiar
Garden Panel Design · Indigo Field
One of the most storied designs in the Afghan weaving canon — a grid of individual garden compartments, each containing a unique botanical scene: cypress trees, flowering shrubs, birds and geometric blossoms. On a deep indigo ground, the effect is extraordinary — a tapestry of miniature worlds, each one different from the last.
